What are foam fire extinguishers?
A foam fire extinguisher, or an AFFF foam fire extinguisher, works by forming a blanket of foam over the burning material, cutting off the fire’s oxygen supply while cooling the surface to prevent re-ignition. Most commonly, this is achieved using AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) which is a mixture of water and foam concentrate that spreads quickly and effectively across liquid surfaces.
These extinguishers are suitable for:

- Class B fires which involve flammable liquids such as petrol, oil, solvents, and paints.
